Morning Sun Shadow

The location was in the NW section of Washington DC

The "Take It!" came as I was about to get into my car to depart for my next stop on my route routine.  What caught my eye was the composition of green holly along with the strange bark of the trees, matched up with the delicate shadow of branches which still had leaves which  were cast as shadows upon this expanse of plain brick wall which was under a set of windows.

I spent a few moments taking additional photos in this area and found the experience to be calming.  We are living in a hectic time and when settings like this come along I do my best to take a few moments to savor them.

Here is hoping each of you occasion upon some unexpected place like this, and take some time to enjoy it.

PS. We have had some cold introduction days to winter and I can say the Hat Hunting Season has officially opened for me with the bagging of two knit hats within the week.  I have almost perfected the process of spotting a hat in the street and if there is the right amount of space - make a loop in my car and return at a slow speed with my car door partially open and do a lean out when stopped over the hat and pick it up - without ever leaving the seat of the car.  The hat is brought in my   my hand and tossed upon the driver,s side floor under my legs - and I drive off - as it nothing had happened.  There have possibly been some witnesses to this bit of retrievership - but if so - I have not seen anyone do a double take as an observer.  But, then, I am so busy making certain to do the pass as safely as I can, that I have no time to observer for observers - lol.

I have to confess the above is a game I get a big annual kick out of playing..
