This photo was taken on November 12, 2019 at 6:12 PM.
The location was in the kitchen sink in my home relocation in
Maryland.
The "Take It!" came as I have been contemplating how to even
further enhance the serving of cup cakes as part of the refreshment
of choice when I start to give small classes here at my home when I
get further along with the installation of show off shelving
throughout this little old house.
The shallow bowls were purchased yesterday at my favorite hardware
store which carries all sorts of goodies. The bowls were so
striking that they almost jumped off the shelf at me - lol.
I have gone a step further and placed one of the bowls on a
small lazysusan to give the underlier even that much more emphasis
to the cup cakes I will serve at sessions. The cup cakes will come
from a - line out the door - bakery in Georgetown. The
beverages which will be offered will be Tea or Coffee. I will
be shopping for just the right small knife to go along with this
bit of highlighting - even though using a knife with a cupcake may
be absolutely forbidden - lol.
For the photographing of this new bowl - I chose the setting of my
stainless steel kitchen sink. I have a self imposed rule to
always keep the sink clear of dishes as wash them right away after
a meal and always wipe the cleaned up sink with a paper towel to
leave it as dry and shiny as possible. The muted
reflections from the overhead light and the curves in the sink have
made for what I think is an unusual staging. I can hardly
wait to do the whole photo shoot over again when I have some real
cup cakes to include - just to see if the design in the bowl adds
the emphasis I imagine it will.
Thank you for taking the time to share in the fun of the constant
quest to find a way to add spin to the common, and in so doing -
bring about those smiles, that say it all.
Best regards,
PS: I hope you will forgive my being incapable of making a single
choice of a photo for this story. As I went through the
photos to make such a single choice - I found each one had a
certain something that would be fun to include. ( even to the point
of " throwing in the kitchen sink ' lol )
