The location was at a small strip mall in Calverton, MD.
The "Take It!" Came as I pulled into a parking slot in the parking lot of a small mall in a neighboring community which I frequent.
Even with all my car windows up - the music was at a high volume and pleasant enough with a strong violin as the featured instrument - that I thought "what a nice addition to the atmosphere at
this mall." This sort of music is not usually heard in this neighborhood.
I got out of my car and realized I was hearing a live performance - and within a few steps was in view of the source. Once again - I had encountered a single musician this time playing an
Electric Violin accompanies with a recording of other instruments - all being played through a very large speaker set.
I put a five dollar bill into the open cloth reusable shopping bag - the musician had set out beside himself on the ground. He also had a hand lettered sign stating that he was playing to
get funding for his family. I waited for his song to finish - and asked if I could take his picture - to which he readily agreed. I asked where his electric violin had been made. His answer
was that it had been made in Germany. He thanked me for my donation - and moved into his next song.
His music was wonderful - and him - well rewarded for his presentation, as I saw a few twenty dollar bills in the mix, in his bag.
Even though it is Fall - the temperatures are still in the high 70's - so I hope there will be still a few more days to hear this kind of outside live music - which is an unexpected joy.
Hope everyone is enjoying this Fall weather.
All my best,
Bruce

Wow, another street musician. You seem to get quite a few of those in your area.

Today I learned there was such a thing as an electric violin.

Our youngest daughter just started taking piano lessons a couple months ago. I am now thinking we should have picked a cheaper, and more mobile, instrument.

Poor guy, out there to support his family. At least he is showcasing a skill rather than simply asking for money.
