This photograph was taken on Saturday November 6, 2021 at 111:30 AM.
The location was in the valet parking zone in front of a very large hotel in Washington DC.
The "Take It!" came from my being so taken with the randomness of a pig being on a surfboard sticker on the back of a car and there being no other identification attached to the image.
I went to the valet attendant who is someone with whom I had been speaking for several months on a short term basis. He is originally from Ethiopia and pleasant fellow that is now speaking
English quite well. I asked him if he could ask the driver of the car (when they returned) the symbolism of the pig on the surfboard and showed him the photo attached to this account.
He said he would and that he would be on duty when I next stopped by as the hotel is on my regular route. On my next visit - I spoke with him and was told that it represented a family type
of restaurant in Ohio that the owner of the car went to whenever he was nearby as he liked it a lot. I previously had shown the picture to several others who had made guesses as to what it
might represent. Everyone thought the image was funny.
I searched for the image in Ohio on Google when I got home and had no luck. I pushed it further and opened up the search to everywhere - and got the perfect match in Hawaii which made
perfect sense. The restaurant was in Honolulu which is on the island of Oahu. I could only think that the name of the island to the Former Ethiopian sounded like Ohio and thus he
passed along to me his interpretation.
While having been fortunate enough to have been to Hawaii numerous times - I had never encountered this restaurant. Should I be lucky enough to return I will have it on my list of new
restaurants to try.
I cannot wait to relay to those whom I shared the mystery with - what the real story turned out to be.

That would make for a good skill at once of those pet competitions, a pig that can surf.

Hawaii makes perfect sense! Do you remember what the restaurant was called? My family is taking our vacation in 2023 in Hawaii.
