This set of photos was taken on October 31, 2013.
The location was in my neighborhood in Bethesda, Maryland.
The "Take It!" Came from driving by this small well shaped tree and watching it move its color from green to a wonderful almost uniform, orange, red, gold combination. It is one
of those sort of non spectacular but favorite fall color trees for me.
When I stopped the car to take the outside distance shot, I originally thought that would be it - a sort of one and done thing. I do not know what drove me to move in close to the tree to take
the up the trunk photos to capture the colorful umbrella like effect. Perhaps it had something to do with how a recent rain had the trunk showing themselves as a near black color with their
having absorbed the moisture to bring them to this coloring. The results of the upward shots are fascinating in their randomness and beauty.
The After Take: All that I showed this set of pictures to, enjoyed them very much. It is a set that I think is quite different than we see as the usual shots of leaves in their fall
colors. Some compared the configurations with their curves to being tentacle like in appearance. There is an almost orange and black combination that could find this to be a nice shot for a
future Halloween greeting card.
I hope you enjoy viewing these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Here is wishing you are having an enjoyable fall. It is truly a marvel to watch it progress.
All the best,
Bruce
PS: After taking these photos - I got back in the car and reviewed them on the small screen on the back of the camera. I was truly hit with the wonder of the gift I was granted, in taking that
second step, to take the upward next to the trunk set of shots.

We have a park by our house that puts out some colors but other than that we don't get this. It seems it goes straight from summer to winter here.
