The location was at the drive in entrance of a luxury hotel in the Georgetown section of Washington D.C.
The "Take It!" came after a look twice at a brick column in the front part of the entrance. There was something that just did not look right. I had made this observation while parking
the car next to the column and got out of my vehicle to take a closer look. What became apparent very quickly was the difference in the size of the bricks.
I had never seen something like this done before. What had been put together was a combination of two panels of photographs of bricks which were bolted on to the wall to cover a hole in the
original brick work while doing some repairs. Rather than have a gaping hole - this was the clever temporary answer. While I can easily imagine most who looked at this bit of cover up -
would not have realized what they were looking at - and moved on - being none the wiser. We discovered this ruse because of a few brick holes on the sides - that had not been covered.
I departed with a big measure of admiration for the creativity put into place.
I will be watching to see when they finish the job - just how well they are able to match up the bricks used to actually fill the hole.
One never knows where the fun will show up - lol
Best regards,
Bruce

Boy you'd think a luxury hotel could afford to actually replace the bricks.

This is hilarious! Its definitely my husbands style of "repairing" things.

Reminds me of the cardboard over a broken window repair job. Something I did when I was 18 with my first car.

Hopefully those panels aren't made of cardboard or poster board. They won't last too long if they are.

This could be one of those life hacks. When your brick house starts falling apart, instead of replacing the bricks just throw a picture of a brick over it. LOL
