The photos were taken on January 19, 2022 at 11:30 AM.
These photos were taken in the lobby of a fine hotel in the Georgetown Section of Washington DC.
The "Take It!" Came from one of the staff pointing out the bent nails which are the surface of this large piece of art work. I had walked by it many times and never did my eyes pick up on the intricate bent nails surface which makes the piece amazingly remarkable. To look closely at the different bends placed upon the nails and then have them all come out at the same height was awe inspiring. To take the amazement a step further was to see the way the nails were ground down to make a smooth appearing surface - was a visual treat.
I have passed by this piece several times since taking the photographs and I find myself stopping and running my hand over the surface of the nails and verifying each time - that the total result is that they provide a smooth surface.
The entire surface is a near optical illusion.
Wishing everyone my very best,
Bruce

This could keep my grandkids occupied for hours. Its just strange enough and unique enough for a kids imagination to run wild.

I can't think of the movie but it looks like a ball of silver worms I saw in a movie once.

I wondered if those were nails, then I read below. How odd...

Well that's a new one. Weirdest easter egg I've ever seen!
