This photo was taken on Saturday May 5, 2014
The location was from Roslyn, Virginia.
The "Take It!" came from not having had a great colorful sunrise nor any cool clouds to play the game of make a shape or find a neat texture combination. What was in the offing was a just
on the edge of threatening cloud cover with rain in the forecast.
Suddenly a break in the cloud cover appeared and in short order became a fast moving eye catcher. This almost takes on the look of a weird hand grasping at the sky.
The After Take: The exclamation of "Wow" came from several that I showed this one to on the small review screen on the back of my camera. All were quite taken with it. We shared the awe of
this formation being from a break in clouds rather than from clouds themselves.
This was yet another reminder to keep taking those second looks ( I think every look after the first one is labeled a " second look " )
I had pretty much written off the sky and almost everything else that may be dependent upon being illuminated by sunlight because of the overcast. This break was one the great gifts of the
day.
Wishing you all the best,
Bruce

Always a great feeling seeing that sun break through on a cloudy day!
