Note to Self on Dishwasher

The location was in the kitchen of my house in Bethesda, Maryland.

The "Take It!" came from looking at this simple note that says "Dishes have been washed."  This simply worded post it note that has been in use for about 5 years has put order to what had been for years a common mistake in having already washed the dishes and not put them away and with the dishes having set long enough to have gone cold - put some new dirty dishes into the not full racks.  The ensuing game of trying to remember which were the clean dishes and which were the merely rinsed off dishes was always a headache.  Rather than beat myself up for all the years that this odd game went on - I will just give thanks that the new approach was thought of and immediately put into place.

Here is hoping each of you has a system to let yourself and anyone else know the status of the dishes that are still in the dishwasher.  Should you not have one - you are quite welcome to give this simple little game a try.

Wishing everyone a chance at the answers

Bruce

PS: It is worth noting that this item goes up as soon as the door closes to start the dishwater. It is then removed once the racks are empty and the clean dishes have been put away.

Whelp, I was wrong. Of course mine was halfway a joke. We had an incident a few years back, our niece thought the dishwasher was the trash disposal. Made for a fun clean up.

Very clever. Keeps one potential annoyance at bay.
