A New Neighborhood

6/17/19

This photo was taken on May 3, 2019 at 1:57 PM.

The location is just shy of a mile from my new address in Beltsville, Maryland.

The "Take It!”  came after realizing how grateful I am to have this small farm as a neighbor in my new address. I made the move to enable me to invest in some ideas I have entertained for several years. The difference in the cost of living by my moving further out from the heart of the city will make a big difference.

One of the big unexpected benefits has been being able to watch the activities on this small farm which is next to the road upon which I commute on a regular basis. I have watched them plant a variety of crops and due to enough rain and lots of sun shine have seen things begin to grow. Almost all of the items are picked and sold in a very nicely arranged roadside produce stand. While the tomatoes I bought today have come from out of state - I was told there would be some from the farm available in a short while. There are already some greens available which were freshly picked.

While This photo will serve as the banner for the summer - we just might change it a few times to commemorate the arrival of the ripening of parts of the bounty which has been a part of this community since the 1930's.

Here is hoping there is a fresh vegetable stand somewhere close to where you are and we take advantage of what they have to offer as this spring and summer provide their offerings.

Wishing you good health and the enjoyment available in doing what it takes to have it happen.

Bruce

PS: Should anyone be enduring a malady - here is wishing you my very best for comfort and if at all possible - a speedy recovery.

You really cant beat locally sourced vegetables. You are so lucky to have a miniature farmers market so close to home.

That is my ideal retirement home right there. I plan to move to the midwest somewhere and just spend my days farming. It's my second passion in life.
