These photos were taken on August 28, 2021 at 3:57 AM
The location was near an off road from Rock Creek Park with cuts through a lot of Washington DC
The "Take It!" came as this not so large deer ambled across the road I had turned on to, after making one of my usual stops. I was taken aback by his casual saunter and decided to make a U
Turn to catch a photo of him. He decided to move into a drive in front of a large apartment building which had a hedge in front of it which was just about at the height of his head. I
decided to take photos of the silhouette* of his antlers and not use the flash on my camera in order to not scare him off. While I am not a hunter - one can easily see he would have
been a prize for someone who was.
I drove away having enjoyed this brief glimpse of nature showing itself in the midst of all our turmoil.
Wishing everyone a chance to see some of the same where ever you are.
All my best
Bruce
*Yes, I used the dictionary for this word - lol - even spellcheck could not figure out what to suggest with my original entry - lol

It took me a moment to realize that was a buck.

There are a few words it seems like I ALWAYS need spellcheck for, silhouette is one of them lol.

Our youngest was convinced this was cactus. She would not relent. Although she is learning about cactus in school, so I think she’s seeing cactus everywhere.

Looks like it would make a good trophy buck.

I hear deer are a huge problem in your area. Is that true? I read an article that said they are at ‘pest’ levels.

That faucet is doing it’s best antler impression with its shadow…something I never would have noticed were it not for your website.
