Be Not Led Astray

This is one set of shots taken in April 2012 at about 11:30 am.

The location is in Tyson's Corner, Virginia.

The "Take It!" was one of those that came through passing over this many times and not really giving it any thought.  Then one day when running a little late, the shadows cast through the cables strung on poles next to the road matched up almost perfectly with the median painted stripes in the road.  I made several visits to this site to try to catch the perfect match up.  This was as close as I was able to be given, I just did not have the patience to sit and wait for a shadow to move to obtain that perfection. Ansel Adams I am not.

The After Take:  This is one of those mind benders that nature can put together matched up with the workings of mankind.  The engineers that put together the placement  of the poles with their support function for the cables had no idea shadows would be cast that would be so compatable with paint placed on the next to them, road.   One can look at this as being almost eerie or down right fun.   I like to look at it both ways, thus the title to the photo series.

Here is hoping you stumble upon a shadow that is cast only at a certain time of day and possibly only at a certain time of year.  This is especially fun when it comes from something one looks at all the time and never sees this possible added dimention that can sometimes be quite vivid.

Thanks for joining us for the current photo presentation. You are cordially invited to return Tuesday, August 28th for a new picture that we hope you will enjoy.

Wishing you safe travels and avoidance of those shadowy things that can lead us astray.

Bruce

Strategic placement of power lines could rid the world of painted lines on roads hahahahaha

Pretty cool idea.... Looks like it could have taken a lot of time to complete.
