The location was at my home in my home office in Beltsville, Maryland.
The "Take It!" was the preparation for making a gift to my neighbor who had invited me to his home for the 4th of July for a BBQ and celebration with his family. They are from Haiti and great people. He delights in entertaining and had a full grill going with hot dogs, steak, hamburgers, and roast corn. His hands seemed to be constantly in motion - moving items to where they best be placed for proper cooking. His tool for turning and moving things was a set of tongs. I decided to get him a new set of tongs to express my appreciation for his hospitality.
I typed up what I would liked to have placed on the stainless steel tongs - and took them to an engraver I have used for many years. The engraver informed me - that he would have to use a special diamond tipped device to make the engraving since it was hard steel that was to be inscribed. The size of the print had to be larger - thus the text had to be trimmed.
We settled on: Master Griller - Paul Ruteau. I think this tool will last him for many years.
The engraver had not done this before and thought it was a very good idea.
Here is hoping this pass along might work for one of you and become a useful and maybe a treasured gift.
All my best,
Bruce

This is genius. I have a friend that is constantly hosting BBQ's. I think I may have to do something like this for his birthday or something.

What an awesome idea. I just told my wife that this is the type of jewelry I want for our upcoming anniversary.

I have purchased things from a vendor on Etsy and eBay that has an engraving machine. I thought they had thought of everything, but this is a new one.

I have always said, 'if its written in stone (or in this case metal) it must be true.' You can share that with your friend, so he can use it as proof he is a "Master Griller."

Thank you to everyone for your kind responses. It looks like we just might have the right idea for some gifts - lol
I will follow up with a note on how this prototype is received.
Wishing everyone my very best.
