This set of photos was taken on July 30, 2014 at 2:09 PM
The location was in Tyson's Corner, Virginia.
The "Take It!" Came from looking at this building for a number of years with its period concrete facing that while always in very good order had become dated. The decision was made to change the
look of structure all together. I can only imagine the debate that took place with the ownership group in reaching this decision. Thus the name for the photos with its very double meaning.
The After Take: It has been fascinating to watch the transformation of this office building. A huge construction crane was put up that is the type used for new large construction.
This crane is able to service all 4 sides of the building with ease. In one of the lower photos you will see the photo of the artists conception of the final result that has been put
over the construction site fence.
When it is finished, anyone that had been away from the area that comes back will truly be surprised and if they are like me - quite filled with admiration for how complete the transition has
been and how nice the new look really is.
Here is hoping that something that has become old in your area is being made to look new again. I sometimes hear that it is cheaper to tear something down and build new than to rebuild, but
this looks like it has great bones.
Wishing you all the best,
Bruce

A building in my city did something very similar however almost backwards. They took a mostly glass windowpaned building and turned it into a brick structure. Much much smaller building though.

I guess its cheaper than demolishing the building.

What a big undertaking, I wonder how long that will take....
