This image was
photographed on November 3, 2018 at 6:50 AM.
The location was the
drive entrance to a Historic Hotel which borders on the Potomac River in Washington DC.
The "Take it!" was an
immediate response to viewing this bit of wonder that was underfoot as I exited my car upon arrival at the hotel. It had rained during the night and less heavily into the
morning. The surface of the streets as well as everything exposed to the water from the rain - provided a cornucopia for a water/wetness image interpreter-maker like me.
It is at times like this my senses are prompted to a higher level of awareness in the quest to bring about the interplay of settings available, a calm openness into my mind to be able
to engage in the game of image matching to my mental bank of reality exposures, to search for that which could be seen by not only myself, but others, for a likeness.
I must confess to
having been almost stunned by how immediately this image was able to pass through the identity filters of my mind to arrive at being a couple fully engaged in a dance, with her in a
dress of gown which had much in the way of fullness. Her arm and hand are outstretched perhaps as an expression of planned movement or abandonment as they fully engaged with the
music.
The nearby rounds seem
to play in as touches of festivity.
The After Take: All to
whom I have shown this - have, with very little of my verbal prefacing been able to join in seeing the portrayal.
Thank you for sharing
with me, the wonder of it all.
Wishing you my
best,
PS: It must be
said, in order to have ideal condition - there must have been just the right amount of time having elapsed from the end of the rain to allow for some evaporation or drying of the
wetness in order to bring about shapes with edges to them which form images. There are many variables which can effect this edge making part of the equation. Time of year
with attendant temperatures have generally the biggest influence.
Sometimes a walk around
is needed to draw out an image from a wet spot that has caught by eye with its irregularities. This review calls for mental focus using a certain category of intensity.
Like and dislike are cast aside in this exercise - as the call is for what can be made of what is presented.

Oh ballroom dancing is so much fun. I used to love getting all dressed up to go to a formal dance.
