While Waiting for an Elevator

2/13/22

This photo was taken on December 3rd 2019 at 7:04 AM.

The location was on a garage floor in the basement of a building on Georgetown University campus.

The "Take It!" was a question of how fast could I get my camera out and position myself to capture as much of this as possible.

This is a new stop on my route and as always there are challenges to finding a parking place that is nearby and works with little or no chance for a ticket.

The garage in the building turned out to be a right choice.

The parking space is three floors under the lobby which is the location of my intent and the elevator is the connector. Ordinarily one goes to the elevator location almost regardless of what floor it is on (let alone a basement) with zero expectation of finding anything of interest.  I could not believe my eyes on how attractive the lighting effect made such a difference in this what would ordinarily be a boring place to stand and engage in patience while waiting for the elevator to arrive and thus get on with the intended pursuit.

I took several shots and this one was the best.

This will be a regular place for me to visit and I do not think I will get over just how special I think it is.

The After Take:  I showed this to several of those who give me candid feed back and got an almost universal response, that I had stumbled upon something quite unexpected.  Most were quite kind in saying that it took my eye to see it and they thought they might not have originally seen it in the same way.  My thanks went to each for the complement.

Here is hoping there is some " wow " in this for you too.

Wishing you my best,

Bruce

This has a 'you are are entering...The Twilight Zone' feel. Maybe its because Im a huge fan. Im pretty sure the intro to that show had a spinning hallway with flashing lights.

Even though it looks nothing like a rainbow, my mind went to that double rainbow guy that popped up a few years ago.

That dark spot on the floor is the eye of the reflection storm.
