The location was in the street in downtown Washington DC near the National Mall.
The "Take it !" came as I got out of my car at one of my usual stops on a morning that included light rain. This was after several days of clear sky and time for vehicles to do their little ( and
sometimes big ) drips and leaks routine. This spill happened to catch my eye, not only for its size but also the intricate shapes in the run off.
The After Take: Everyone that I have shown this one to was taken aback, as was I, in how much of a run off was on display. Most of these kinds of displays seem to be more concentrated.
I was tempted to give this photo a title that included a reference to lightning, for the run off has a jagged similarity to that display of nature.
My fascination with this bit of random street art never ceases as I never know when the next blob is going to have a personality of its own. It has brought me to an unexpected anticipation
for rainy days and finds me wandering about in the streets if the rain is very light and the daylight is correct trying to find a new subject.
Rainy days have gotten a new meaning for me. Here is hoping you have seen a few shapes as you have moved about on rainy days where you live.
All my best,
Bruce

It looked like a bunch of lightning to me.

Fortunately this type doesn't sting you when you step on them.

I like how colorful these blotches can be. Our kids get a kick out of them too, its just a pain making sure they don't touch them!

As pretty as these things can be, it pains me a little to see things things so frequently.
